Is it trite to write about New York these days? I suppose.
But no one's ever ran these streets like I have, taken the same steps as me. But humor me and take these exact steps with me because that's what writing is, isn't it, and that's not trite at all, is it.
No one's ever had to tear off covers at two in the morning and run through a city that's had its magic pulled from underneath it, turning it into an unnavigable maze, journeying toward last vestiges of love seeping into the casualty count of a New York goddamn City hospital like I have.
No one's ever had to relegate the complexities of years of passionate emotion to a simple text like I have: i love u too c u soon

Ditch the first three sentences of this. Your story really starts with "No one's ever had to tear off covers at two in the morning," trust me on this. It's a compass needle that points to true north. Now tell us the rest.

the last line is one i'm sure lots of people struggle with.  so hard to say so much when no words do it justice.
