"I want to see the world," the girl with the charcoal black eyes whispered.

"I traveled around the world," the man with a slightly worn out black eyes answered.

To every "I want to..." that the girl presents, the man covers with "I've already been..." comments.

He lives in the past.

I, the future.

And together, we'd miss the present.

Wise woman.  Good to have you on board.  Must agree with Ron about the use of "the girl", and then "I".

A most auspicious debut.  Welcome. I really enjoyed the quick-cut contrasts in this piece, & the shift from "the girl" to "I".  Well done.
