account of a brief and agonizing life

One way or another
an egg had fallen from a nest, a baby bird, gray, twitching, defenseless
flung to a burning unnatural surface. It would not survive.
Its first and only sensory experience hot, painful, and, pointless:
all the integrated, complicated forces of nature behind its creation

Why?
Inside its painful abandoned body, nerves and cells
sent messages, pain will be the only thing it ever feels.

In heat like this nothing survives, there is only suffering.

I saw this and I wrote this so that it would not only live the once, but that

the description of its pointless suffering could somehow add meaning to

a brief exstience filled with agaony.

Your voice is so unique.  Love your expression, never the norm or expected.   I really love "...all the integrated, complicated forces of nature behind its creation - Why?"  That says it all.  You are a rare and talented bird yourself.  Keep these coming.

The shock of coming upon something like what you describe can only make me feel that life is relentless.  It never stops pushing you out until it stops.  I am so glad to hear your voice.  I caught you over at Lunatic's Folly, but was not a member, so could not comment.  Your writing gets better all the time.
