Yes? Um, no. Hang on ... what? Oh I don’t know. Does it matter!? Goodbye.

Dedicated to the memory of one of those truly rare individuals, who enriched not only my life but the lives of everyone he knew, taken too soon, sadly missed.
1. Life should be measured in explosions, the more unintentional the better, the sort of philosophy which could only be propounded by someone who donated a finger to rocket fuel research.
2. Genius depends on your point of view, I knew you were one because of all the things you knew which I didn’t, and you thought I was one for, I…

The view from this 19th floor window gives me such a beautiful vista over Telstra Dome, sorry Etihad Stadium now, out to Docklands and on down the Yarra River to the Westgate Bridge.
When it rains it feels as though I am caught up in Wordsworth’s cloud, wandering lost and lonely over buildings instead of hills, dimly making out the shapes of the surrounding towers through the soft white mist which surrounds me.
When the sun is setting, the River reflects the gorgeous pink and gold of the cloud…

Something was going on, I could feel the tension in the air simmering like the atmosphere just before a storm, whispers ran around the office like electricity along a wire. I strained to make out what was being said because as a three week temp I knew no one would ever tell me.
...it was supposed to be discussed today...but he told me on Friday...that wasn’t what was supposed to happen...no don’t walk away, come back and tell me...well it isn’t up to you... The hushed whispers, laden wit…

A sudden sharp sneeze on the crowded tram attracted the attention of the stranger sitting opposite.
‘Hay fever,’ she explained as their eyes met over the tops of their respective books, he smiled as he stuck a receipt between the pages and stowed the volume in his satchel. She glanced out the window uncomfortable with his extended examination of her features and hurriedly pushed her novel into her handbag as she realised that she had almost missed her stop.
He watched her stand and lithely swi…

Having just finished the first four books of the Hitchhiker's trilogy I was inspired to attempt to emulate Adams's unique sillinesses.
He stopped at the end of the corridor and looked around to see which way to go next. A long nondescript corridor which was almost but not quite exactly like the one he had just left stretched away on both sides. ‘Ok, we go right,’ said his brain which would have been a perfectly reasonable decision to have made except for the fact that at exactly the same…

The rain started slowly, softly just a drizzle at first but we still went outside and looked at it.
We watched in wonder as it grew heavier and heavier and before long it was bucketing down, streams of water running down the roof, through gutters more used to dry leaves than raindrops.
It overwhelmed our senses, the noise indescribable, pounding down on the tin veranda, drowning out the thunder which rumbled dimly in the distance shaking still more water from the clouds; the gurgle of the empty…

She walks up the concrete stairs, one passing after the other beneath her soft leather soled shoes, on the landings her heels click in a crisp professional way and her skirt billows in a sexy cloud around her knees. She is happy in a contented, superficial sort of way but deep down inside she feels she is missing something, it’s a big thing whatever it she is missing but she cannot work out what it is, maybe it is a part of herself.
Later she gets a text message from him, something silly about…

I’m reading this book I downloaded for free off the author’s website; as a voracious bookworm I’m always on the lookout for something new to devour and a free read seemed like such a bargain. There were no traps or tricks just a polite request that I would tell him in which country I resided and if I would post a review of it when I was done. I started eagerly because I wanted to like it so much, I loved the opening line and pushed on despite my growing apathy. Now I’m stuck half way through, bo…

Wrinking my nose at the odd medicinal smell, I select a smooth unblemished section of skin about an inch to the left of my belly button. I pinch it gently, careful to hold only the skin and thin layer of fat beneath it. Carefully I balance the contraption in my right hand and vaguely notice that it still feels odd even after so long. Slowly I slide the clean sharp surgical grade steel into my skin and smile as I feel nothing. I always get a sense of achievement when I pick a spot where the needl…
