These Roses Are Not a Metaphor

He left roses on his mother's grave a couple of days ago. Red ones; he thought blue roses would be more interesting, but come on, where the fuck does one actually find blue roses? I Ate Her Heart

I ate her heart when she wasn't looking, snatched it up and devoured the whole thing in two or three bites. First I peeled off the slimy coating, then bit into the rich, buttery center.
