May 21

I love to see the pink penstemmon blooming in tandem with the globe mallow because the blended colors remind me of a teenage girl headed for the beach, not quite blended.

Staggering

I get drunk on the smell of the dark places in the creek.

I get drunk on the idea that.... well, on ideas.

Field Trip

Shiney held her paper plate of beans and bar-b-que and stared out the plate glass window at the ridge from which they'd just descended, watched the windmills spin atop that ridge, thought about the tour they'd just had of the incomprehensible innards, cold and concrete and cavernous below the blades.

Monte walked up beside her, styrofoam cups of coffee in his hands.

"Wanna sit?"

"Sure," and they sat at a long table that would be folded up and put in a storage room after…

Not a 6S piece, but fitting after the discussions earlier in the week

Please click through and read a post written by my partner who returned from Afghanistan on Tuesday.  He flew out of Kabul right before the news of Bin Laden's death broke.  He heard of the event from an Egyptian cab driver in Dubai.
