Missable

On the day of Arthur’s funeral, Cooney saw someone who looked like Jimmy Dodd might have twenty years on, and the guy was standing across the street from the breakfast place where he had gone to have coffee with his two closest acquaintances, friends of Arthur’s actually, as he knew so few people who had survived, and none of them lived in San Francisco. Misappropriation

In the last phone call Mal received from Jimmy Dodd, she thought he sounded satisfied with his decision to join the members of his commune in Guyana even if his tone was a bit overwrought as if he had to hurry through his conversation before being cut off, and she never took him up on his suggestion to watch Executive Action and The Parallax View to find out “what was really happening.” She could not forgive him for leaving her stranded in San Francisco when he got all…

A Misapprehension

Cooney never having attended a Broadway show in all his years in the city, and as the tickets were free, Arthur suggested they have a bite to eat at Sardi’s, his treat, and although Cooney was floored when Arthur pointed out Mallory Cardigan sitting alone with a salad and a glass of wine in front of her, he took him up on his prompting to be introduced seeing as how the two of them had grown up together.
