Six things that about covers it for me.

Can't be arsed typing it all again ... so ...

I will add:

1. There may be a few you can trust, but most you cannot, play it safe ... trust no-one.

2. Everybody lies. (House got that from me.)

3. Treat all religions as if they were nitro-glycerine.

4. If…

Desert Birth

Old man Gant was the first one to see the stranger coming, at first just a shimmering black silhouette against the blood red ball of a low Sun as it sank toward the horizon to burn some other part of the world.

The stranger was walking out of the western desert, 200 miles of burned nothing, where he came from, how he could walk out of hell on Earth Gant couldn’t figure, he just watched the black squiggle take shape into the figure of a walking man, walking straight and true and…

What an 'Effing' Week

Monday morning … something tells me you’re all aware of it … I stagger outside in the morning , still dark at this time of year, and ease myself into my old Volvo, then build up the energy to turn the ignition key (why do Volvo put such strong springs on ignition locks … HAVE THEY NEVER HEARD OF MONDAY FUCKING MORNINGS ?)

It wont start, that’s it ! … I’m writing to Ebay … bought the bloody car on their site in 2004 and despite the fact it’s never ever missed a beat and now has… Continue

And the Words of the Prophet are Written on the Subway Wall

It’s the curvature of those cold gleaming white tiles that gets to me, it circles around high above, and comes in at you from below, like a belly punch.  There’s some distant echo rumbling out of the mouth of the tunnel, some train passing in the night in that hell’s maze of tunnels,  flitting from rail to rail, it’s origin or destination hidden forever beyond a dimly lit black hole.

There are people sleeping on the benches, lost souls without a home to go to, seeking what bit of…

Winter Day

Today was one of those incredible bright sunny Winter days with it's pale blue sky, and a low Sun giving that bright sharp light that generates those long black shadows, as if someone had turned up nature's contrast control.  So I decided on a quick walk down the coastal path to Bude, to scoff a couple of…

I Feel Holo Too

I’m reading this book see, called ‘The Black Hole War’.  It’s by a fellah called Leonard Susskind, he’s a physicist, the sort of bloke that argues with Stephen Hawking ….. and wins !!

Now he proposes that the entire Universe is in fact a hologram, a sort of giant sphere that may be infinitely big, with all the information about it’s contents plastered on it’s outer surface, which is then projected inward to…

Why Don't We Do It In the Road ?

The field made me uneasy, but Donna, being an ex Girl Guide and forever going on about her woodcraft badges, you know, how to start a fire with two pine cones or cook a weasel in a nettle leaf, all that camping lore shit,  insisted on pitching the tent right in the centre, which seemed very exposed to me, but I didn’t object because she looked so good in that tight tank top…
