Saturday night, Rita’s red light burned out, you know the kind that blinks.
To replace it, the nearest Supper Wiggly was at least ten miles away; no time for that, but the rent money was due.
So she decided to go next door to the Toot’n’Tell It where they had a Big Red Box.
She dabbed a little Lola behind her ears and then stood there in her finest black tights, red midriff expansion shirt and her six inch hi-heels.

A Mothers Love
I watched her crawl to the couch, pull up, and let go. I held my arms out and she walked to me for the first time.
Five years later, I put her on the school bus and cried all day.
When she graduated, it was a pivotal time in our lives.
Now she’s married and will start her own family.
How many times can your heart burst with pride?

Sally couldn’t wait to get through the traffic, fix dinner and kick back in front of the tube; tonight Grey’s Anatomy had a new show and that was the only show she hated to miss.
The last pot and ladle were stowed and her emails had been downloaded for later, when her hubby poured her a glass of wine “I think it’s good for you to get away from your writing at least one night a week, let your mind rest.”

My nerves are on edge.
My heart is tearing.

while she verbally
