Rejection

It was my first day as a member of the Writers' Club, my first meeting, and the deadline date for the Spring 2010 Writing Contest. I scrambled together two items for entry- one a poem, well, a song with all repetitions of the chorus removed, the other a short, vague inspiritational piece I'd been carrying around for years. Everything was so rushed and hurriedly done that I wasn't sure what I had submitted. When I reread them, and read the winners from the Fall contest, I was sure that I would…See More

Too Late for Dr Ramsey Contest

The deep and penetrating black eyes, sunken into the visual opening of the ninja’s even darker, black headpiece, wound tightly around his head, gave no clue, not even an inclination to what he, or she, might be thinking. After all, it is the 21st century.A curtain of black framed his (or her) cocked head and frozen, black eyesight. The blackness projected from the image, jumped at the viewer, and blackened him (or her), just as the photoshoot was scripted. The Art Director barked with authority,…See More

The comfort of home

I've had gas all day, today. Then we went to eat at a Mexican restaurant tonight. If that's not bad enough, we stopped at an ice cream place on the way home.

I was so relieved to get home to my own bathroom. But the result was just gas, and more gas. I guess I will see what these three little pills do overnight.
