Individualism and Equality of People Gone Mad

Here’s my 6 Sentences based on my really, true experience in the Al Jazeera English (AJE) Chat Room at Livestation. Vicki

In discussions with chat room americans try to keep in mind that high levels of intellect, experience, reasoning and expertise are not equal to nor greater than the opinions expressed by those in the chat room.

So . . . if you have the four above characteristics and attempt to explain your viewpoint you will receive no respect if you disagree with someone, because yo… Continue

I shielded my eyes for a better look at the islands in the net woven with Sterling's laser web.
I tried to distinguish between the light and its shadow but my sister, Shelley, asked, "Why?"
"I wonder about the dark places between."

Six Words

I've been trying to come up with a story in six words that tells a whole story.
Here's what I've come up with so far.

Sorting photos

I have been sorting photos on the computer with very bad results. I was so proud of myself, thought I had them all organized in their own labeled folders, only to find the folders were all empty! All the photos had ended up in the recycling folder, thank goodness, I knew to look there. So I have tried about five photo software packages. Finally thought to ask my editor at Crete Gazette who suggested ACDsystem, "because it is the best!" Cross your fingers for me that I can handle ACDs because my… Continue

Vicki, what an interesting way to meet people. I've had a look at your home page and like it as well. We share similar interests and perhaps even mindsets. I'll keep my eye out for your future posts. You recieved an invitation from Mike Solender, you should add him as a friend as well. He also values free thinkers. Take care, nice to meet you.

Hello Vicki, thank you for your kind comments. I have been out of the loop for a while due to work on the house and garden. My husband and I have also had a few health issues. I now see a light at the end of a long dark tunnel. The kitchen is progressing well, albeit slowly. It is finally a pleasure to enter, being full of light and warmth.

I like your perspective - Think about writing for us:

It can be difficult for writers with a different, non mainstream perspective to find a venue that revels in bringing thought-provoking, critical ideas and viewpoints into the open for discussion and debate. On The Wing is that platform and as we re-launch our web presence, we are looking for engaging 1000-5000 word nonfiction essays, opinions, rants and more.

On the Wing is the nonfiction arm of the well read Literary Publication, Full of Crow.

I am inviting you to submit a piece to be considered for publication at OTW.

OTW is looking to both published and never before published writers who may feel disenfranchised from the mainstream media and are looking for a place to air controversial, unusual, contrary or unique pieces that may other-wise never have the chance to be read by a wide audience.

I hope you will bookmark OTW and become a regular reader. I also hope you will consider submitting a piece for review and share the call for new and exciting work with others who may be interested.
