"I like the image of holding on to the coronary arteries" in the middle of the country's heart". And that of writing your name "on every fogged window I pass". Good piece."

What Darwin said.

I dreamed the world was ending and the governments constructed tax deductible, Viking funeral ships for us all. They built them family style as if they were RVs people used to criss cross the country in, back when seeing the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore and The Statue of Liberty were concrete signs that you were in the middle of a real American summer. The ships were roomy enough for pets and picture albums and precious heirlooms like Purple Hearts and Anniversary platters and…See More

"This is just beautiful and sad, in the same way that love at nineteen is beautiful and sad. The last sentence is perfect. It reminds me that some things stay and are left behind for us to uncover, when all else is long lost."

Profile Information

About Me:
I'm a writer/artist which is really a fancy way of saying that I am dirt poor. Sometimes I'm not. Poor, that is. Sometimes, I stay in luxe hotels and sleep on all-white beds. I'm always in the middle, not in an intruding way, more like an I've got eyes in the back of my head way and can see both sides. Sometimes, I only want to see one way. I write about love even though I am a firm believer in the science of everything, even me and you and all of the things we feel. I write fairy tales too and I take pictures, which are not very polished, but not everything has to be. I'm crazy private and creating this blog makes me hyperventilate. I don't have Facebook or anything that keeps you connected to people you knew a long time ago. I'm very protective of my work. If my words were acres, I would be sitting on a rocking chair on the front porch of a tiny house with a hound dog at my feet and a shotgun cradled in my arms. The words and I, we're the same. It's only self-preservation.

It's a good year, for a narcoleptic love story.

It's a good year, for invading sacred territory.

So won't you come and be with me?

So won't you come and be with me?

I've got your swan song, skipping on the turntable and some refills on aphrodisiacs.

We'll sleep through transluscent days and watch the glow in the dark sky I've taped to my ceiling.…

Our Love Is Stolen (I know a guy who knows a guy). Excerpt from "Red Ghost Island".

Suddenly, beautiful words began pouring down from opaque, emerald clouds. Our dinner lay abandoned on cracked, porcelain plates as you ran into a sea of sentences. I followed, barefoot on a summer night, laughing over the howling wind, "Catch them, darling, catch them!". Your grin was sea foam white and ear to ear as you handed me a bouquet of hot pink,…

Where The Lost Things Go.

The last time she'd watched him melt into a crowd of tourists, she knew he'd never find his way back. She still remembered the patterns his frozen breath made in the darkness. She had watched his breathing in a quiet alley like pretty girls watch clouds in the springtime and every time he had said lovely things, she'd think...There goes a lion. There goes a train. There goes a…
