Abandoned thongs hung from a wire fence, where locals had strung them up. Perhaps it was in the hope that their owners would come looking for them. On many, the colours had faded, and cobwebs had gathered. No two were the same, and none belonged. No one was coming to find them. They were forgotten, suspended together, yet alone.

Dust motes float through the air, illuminated by the afternoon sun that filters through the bedroom window. Severe yellow light casts an eerie glow across the floor. Deep, thundering music echoes out of the stereo, shaking the heavy spring air. Cars drive slowly past outside, to destinations unknown. A slow electrical purr escapes the abundance of appliances within the room. The light begins to fade, as the music stops and the sound of cars speeds up.

The night sky lit us up like the city. As stars went shooting across my eyes, I wished for you. And my wish came true. For the first time, I witnessed a miracle. As far as miracles go, I was sorely dissapointed. Now I'm just waiting for the next star, to wish you away.

Books stacked so high, she must be holding the whole world in her hands. Her glasses sit crooked on her nose, like always. Her skirts crooked too, and her shirt could do with an iron. Her hair is messy, and not in that fashionable way either. Someone puts a foot out to trip her, and you scream silently for someone to help her. Please, someone help her.

For so long she held a grudge against humanity. He had poisoned her view of the world, and corrupted her perceptions. Everything she touched she saw darkness in, and she could see it flowing in him. She was angry simply because he was-she couldn't escape him, but could not stand his presence. She needed an escape, something to release her tension in, and feed her anger. When she looked past her anger for a split second, she found her release was him.
