He was just a marmalade tomcat that I first met at the animal shelter where I volunteered. He was so big he could barely turn around in the cage, so instead he lay quietly at the bottom of the cage watching the parade of people. Grandma Biggerstaff shouts,” Jenny Sue, I’m gonna serve the turkey soon, please toss some ice in the pitcher of sweet tea?”
Jenny Sue opens the freezer and pulls out an old school metal ice tray with a lever top.
Frantically, she tries to pull up the frozen lever, then chops at the ice with a knife and lastly drops the tray on the floor.
