Zeal seems to come so easy to some folks, and for some of us, well, we really have to work at it. I guess it depends on what you want to be zealous about. Peace, Ed.

A Stolen Kernel

I'm sitting here trying to get through to all the ducks and geese that have populated my lake all summer to let them know that all the fat they've stored on their asses won't help them get through the winter; It's never worked for me.

The last time this happened, deep into the year was when we had an overnight flash freeze of the lake and the next morning, all the creatures flapped their wings in unison and took the entire lake southbound.

Peace on Earth!

We all need to take this time of the holidays to remember what a wonderful world our religious zealots have given us as they pray for the destruction of our rat bastard enemys and for over a hundred years, here in the USA we have had that privilege.

Every president knows he needs a war to solidify his regime to go down in history as a great leader and those that do not have a war will invent one; let me count the ways.

Infidelity is a Vauge Preception.

Searching for a voice of welcome as her key slipped the door open, none came.

She entered the bedroom, only to find her husband and the badly peroxided blonde hussy from down the street in HER bed as she stumbled through the shock, searching for words that would resonate her disgust.

An open mouth and wide tear stained eyes were all she could muster through her petrified body as it stood in the doorway quaking.

Her adrenaline laced mind was filled with flashes of memories and rage that their… Continue

Writers Block

If I hear the words 'writers block' one more time, I'm going to scream, "open your fucking veins and bleed because isn't that what every good, great writer did before us?"

Was Poe his own 'Ulalume', or Hemingway his own 'Old man and the Sea", Shakespeare in 'Hamlet and Macbeth ' bleeding with their own self doubts by slitting their wrists?

You chose to write so bleed your own private passion and know their is no story without the pain of you.

If you want to be a reporter and journalist in lif… Continue

ED ~ Coming from YOU who brings the proverbial pie to the table with slice-of-life stories, I was really touched by what you said over at my *Peppers and Zen* piece. I thanked you publicly there . . . but just felt I should share one of my produce finds to pepper your own thoughts. ~ Kate

Ed, I have sent the three finalists to Rob. Will post them shortly in the forums so people can discuss it there. I am sure to get some cool abuse for not picking technically correct writing but who gives a shit, right? I just picked the ones that either made me laugh or cringe.

Cheers
