A Song Well Sung.

Posted on May 28, 2013 at 12:48pm 5 Comments

Through all of our meanderings in life, we all search for a simple singular musical note that fits our essence.

Once that bell has been rung, it leads to a chord, a song or a symphony.

We all write the music of our own spheres and hope the melody will be…

Noorie...............A Gita and Joey segue.

Posted on May 22, 2013 at 6:00pm 3 Comments

(An excerpt from a short story I started)

Noori passed today; he once was my best friend while growing up in a mostly Arab American community in Dearborn; you see, Noori was my next door neighbor and best friend for most all of our young defining years.…

Good Ole' Boys.

There's a deep dark secret in the South that has to do with Southern men and I think extended sunshine might have a lot to do with it.

The North seems to carry the jaundiced Germanic eye that needs two lawyers and a testimonial from Jesus before you can draw a paycheck and your performance outside the workspace is based in the barroom and not the bedroom.

But travel south and there is a laid back gentility that is borne in the local water of a pair of glinting blues eyes that…

Sometimes Three is not a Crowd (Eavesdropping)

Posted on February 28, 2013 at 9:00pm 4 Comments

He hadn't slept well for months so his groggy brain perked when he heard her raspy voice on the phone; "I know, I know, I can't wait either, it sounds, so wonderful”....... a very long pause and her secretive voice ended with a "me too!"

She did not set his mind at ease the next morning when she told him in a nervous voice that she wanted to go out to dinner on Friday; 'damn', he told himself, 'it's one of those bullshit dinners where the hammer drops half way through the main course,…

Eavesdropping on The Chocolate Couple

Posted on February 26, 2013 at 8:41pm 4 Comments

It was the 'chocolate couple' next to us that got my attention and their buzz overrode Nanc in a heartbeat.

So how do you shut one down and peak on the other without being disrespectful?

I know, I know; you gals have a brainwave that works with multiple proficiency but a little respect for us left-brained guys that have a singular focus.

Suddenly the MUSAK is playing the song; “God bless the child that got’s in own.”

So many thoughts and deliberations to such a…

Ed, to get a better sense of Kim, read the two stories just before She Told Me She Loved Me. These are She Tried On Her Bad Girl and Alone And So Small. An earlier one, New Eyes, on Nov. 6, also gives you a picture. And pretty much throughout, I've given people a look at her, through her actions, what moved her, etc.
