Damp Breeze

Posted on February 23, 2013 at 11:00am 5 Comments

Stagnant air surrounded me, bringing edgy feelings of resentment.

It gnawed at me, I chewed at it until one thought remained, I hated my job.

I sought solace in repetitively thinking lemon aid, thinking iced tea, nothing worked.

From behind a damp breeze caressed my neck while the smell of rain demanded my attention.

Turning in my chair toward the open window I saw leaves hued in iridescent yellow just before they turned dark green.

The sky erupted…

Serendipitous Parade

Posted on February 18, 2013 at 6:36pm 6 Comments

Serendipitous Parade my mom called it, moments of unexpected events crossing your path. Moments like ducks crossing the road causing you to stop and wait but, generally the moment consisted of people coming around a corner starkly out-of-place.

I watched the five women round the corner walking bunched for safety, gangly arms entangled with others gayly chatting as they made their unfamiliar way…

Sentimental Desperation

I'm an interloper to everyday life, born into a forgotten neighborhood lying on the other side of the tracks.

I'm among you, standing toed to your metal gates gazing up at life no longer expanding into possibilities, you know nothing of my existence, the possibility of me never intrudes upon your consciousness.…

Plexiglas Wish

Posted on April 16, 2009 at 12:34pm 0 Comments

Prying himself loose from his plexiglas prison, Ollie jumped off the burger joint’s sign and sauntered toward the restaurants front door. For the first time in his life he felt alive and full of possibilities, no longer a mere two dimensional figure living the life of a cartoon.

At the front door Ollie struggled to wrap his hand around the brass door handle, he had never used his hands before, he turned plaintively looking for help. “Like this” said a little seven year old, reaching… Continue

Parrot Tirade

Posted on April 10, 2009 at 8:36pm 2 Comments

Hat snatched from her head Delilah spun around hoping to find it on the ground but, screeching with delight the parrot flew off with its cargo bobbing between sharp talons, colorful wings grabbing attention from tourists and locals deep into the park.

Delilah flushed red, anger and embarrassment danced inside with a gurgling taunt. Abruptly she turned spitting on the walk nearly hitting the shoes of her companion, Her hands in the air wailing, demanding action.“Did you see that, I… Continue

I don't always have the time. Today I did, and the stories were really good.

Well look at that there below me - I never saw that until now and this is March. I'm pretty sure this is not my page. I'm also pretty sure my mail is working. I wonder why the sender didn't just send me a message in my inbox? I also wonder why anyone else didn't send me any mail? Especially after I asked if 3 posts were ok and I was told yes.
I came over here to say something nice - now I am leaving because I am laughing so hard. Doesn't anyone know that the shortest distance between two points is the direct route which in this case would have been email.

I think its a curse of the creative to not be understood by those nearest but grasped by those afar.

Thank you! I see all of that there, now. I was there before but I think I was looking at the picture sideways, duh.
Very good way you did that skinny girl.

Hi Craig,
Am wondering if you'd like us to respond to Pale Blue right there or else where, regarding writing style.

I also want to say, and I am by no means the brightest crayon in the box, which could explain why I didn't understand your writing. It's not like your other stuff and I'm hoping you will walk me through some of it when you have the time.

Yes, Craig, I've already been called down for this by several six sentencers, and to all I've apologized. I had no idea it mattered if more than one story was posted by a writer at one time, but now that I know, I will not do that anymore. I would hate, though, to think that other writers thought I knew protocol but refused to follow it.
