"Aren't empty houses just rife with potential for a writer. What happened? Why is it empty?  I like the appearance of the fence, it feels like the narrator was meant to find the house, meant to go inside, and meant to stay. This story has a…"

Walking With Frosty Thoughts

Posted on January 2, 2013 at 1:30am 2 Comments

Two roads diverged in the woods, and I...I took the one most travelled by.

I'm a follower, and that wasn't about to change, at least not on this day, on this walk.

I eventually came to a clapboard house, cozy and nestled in the trees, and it looked empty.

I went inside, and it was dusty and stunk like mold, and barren except for an old wooden school desk, and when I looked out the window, I saw a giant slat fence all the way around.

The Clock On My Wrist Says: I'm In The Mood For Orange, Me Brothers.

And my three knobby-kneed droogers, all tied in a twisty little ringlet with less witticatch than a titmouse, drizzled up a limey plot: to go in the centriole of the twinkling starry-fortnight to the country dwelling of the gimped Professor and his wife--that breasty tart, she is--and make merry mischief with the old wallygaggerous do-willies.

It's been a while since I went to the tavern, and just walking by for no reason at all, I peeked my head in the door.

The old patrons, those that enjoyed quick shots--none were big drinkers, all liked their drinks fast and strong--had moved along except for a couple of stragglers, of course.

The old guard, the ones that commented on my hair and my manners and my ways, and the ones I wished would take longer and deeper drinks from a sweet well, just might…

I was never a fan of Jerry Reed's country crooning.  Even before he murdered my sister, and got away with it, I hated him.

That muggy stare on each of his albums, like some kind of phony baloney trying to swoon the women with a face only his father could love.

When I get out of here--and I come up for consideration again in six months, according to the notches on my bedpost--I'm going to exact some revenge, and that's just between you and I, you hear.

Johnson,… Continue

Steve, just a quick shout-out. I think "Gift Shop Thieves Fear Clint Eastwood" is one of the greatest titles in the history of 6S. Love it! (4/30/11)

Brother, your photos have a very clean look - cool to the touch, with smooth edges - except the hammock.  You already know I like your writing.  Thanks for all your comments.  They are very meaningful to me.
