Okay that picture is insanely cool. Scarlett, I loved this piece. It could have been a victorian short story.

Hey Chris,
I did get Fairy Floss and Kate informed me on her Barker's Spiel that I draped a couple others in it too. :) Oh well, the world is better off pink. I plan on commenting on everyone's ride tonight. But I need to break for Dinner. Yeah, bad idea before the bumper cars, huh?

Good to see you, Chris. Glad your carnival is getting a second go. Hope your job is going well.

I got your email and sent one back but it was from my phone and maybe it didn't send. I really enjoyed receiving your mail, I did. I hope you don't mind if I just sit this one out. Hope you have a wonderful time tho. =)

Hi Chris,
Things have been well and the typical crazy. We went to our first carnival here on saturday. The carnival is a pretty big deal here, they don't have giant fairs like puyallup one in WA. Quite the experience. The carnies yell at you non stop, for prizes at the game stands you got Iguannas and parakeets (live). And they sell deep fried cow guts for dessert (yuck). It's a spanish word and I don't remember what it is, I bet your hubby does though.
We had alot of fun on the rides though. Got terrible terrible sunburns (yeah, in febuary). Now, I know.

Lol, so I got to experience to our Twilight and a real carnival in the same week.

How are you?

The Gathering Place called and said that you should pay them a visit with that solitare lady and her red lipstick. They said you should only wave at Calvin.. Just saying...

OMG - I think you're right about the solitare/internet thing! I sometimes wonder what my kids will recall of me when they were growing up and this will be it. I think sometimes that I am a better mom but today I think that I am just a different mom. Alas.

Twilight Carnival - Roller Coaster

It’s the chunky – clunky - clacky sound of the chain pulling the roller coaster up the track - anticipation and doubt - (Will we make it? Will we make it?). Time stops at the top - joy and fear - gravity (that bandit) tries to steal my stomach; hands up and scream! My heart pounds in its cage as we enter the shadowed valley and I remember Newton’s third law, and the Lord’s Prayer. Into the light, effortlessly, the car goes up again; we round the corner; the wooden trestle groans and complains (a… Continue

Twilight Carnival - Bumper Cars

Black graphite and polished steel, the floor is slick and dangerous; crouching in the far corner, a pride of many colored tigers with metal tails that point straight up and lick the electric ceiling. I tiptoe toward the red one but a sneakered boy beats me to it (he knows, as I do, that the red car is faster than the rest) so I jealously hop in the green one. A sarcastic sign on the wall reads “No Bumping.” I glare at the thief in the red car as the attendant, ever vigilant, double checks our se… Continue

Twilight Carnival - Fairy Floss by Scarlett Rose

This lovely treat was written by our own sweet Scarlett Rose...

I smell fairy floss in the distance and I see people walking with it in their hands, and I so badly just want…
mummy’s words interrupt my thoughts as she turns to me saying, “Not now dear, just wait – Mummy’s a little busy right now.” I look up at her and she isn’t looking at me, a muscley man chopping wood captivates her, and I know how effortlessly I can slip away, so … I flit away amidst arms and legs and bodies of theContinue

The Dentist

“Funny,” he said, “you don’t look like a poet.”

I drooled “jus wa dug a hoet loog lig?”

“Spit - you know, flamboyant,” He picked up the drill and waived it in the air, “Open up.”

And I said - to myself, since my mouth was full of picks and probes, suctions and drills - I said “I’m no bereted beatnik, no crimson-lipped goth, and that’s just fine with me. My mouse gray hair and wrinkles allow me to fold up into invisibility, and when I spy a sweet crumb of the human condition I can scurr… Continue
