Sometimes I Eat Cookies

Sometimes I eat cookies to feel like a kid. To kill the pain. Because they're all I have. Because they're there. Because my mother made them and I don't want to make her feel bad by not eating them. Sometimes I eat cookies when I watch reports about disasters and murders on the news, and oddly enough, those are the times I enjoy them the most.
