The Walk for Hunger
The day is here, and I am ready. I stand and cheer, I direct their movements, and I halt them when the cars come; sometimes we get police help. I look down at the line of people; I see for miles, and there is no end. They come in groups, alone, with family or friends, or with their dogs (poor pups; sore paws!), on foot, in strollers and wheelchairs, and, unfortunately, on skates and bikes.

I have left the dinosaurs and prehistoric reptiles, amphibians, and mammals, and I am in a hall of glass-encased preserved creatures--assorted cats, apes, and grazers. Most look angry, snarling, ready to lunge or bite; their eyes are wide, black, sharp, and watching. Did that lion move? Is that rhino watching me?
