Ride on, gray ghosts

Kneeling in the mud as rain pours over my face with waters warm and menacing.  With both hands I hold the unstrung bow near me.  Through the rain, like ghosts gray and gruesome, the enemy staggers back on horses exhausted.  Hard fought, we foes, the day before under clear bright skies and banners flying.  Bloody the field; my bow sending dozens to stand before their grim gods.  Ride away, grim ghosts; ride away and thank the heavens rain makes my bow sullenly silent and the feathered messengers…See More

Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
I'm fourteen year old boy trapped in a sixty-year old body. Naw, not really. I'm just sixty years old--but still dream and wonder at the mysteries of the universe like a fourteen year old boy.

I just liket to write. . .

I like to write. Mostly novels, true. Hard-boiled, noir crime fiction. Heroic sci/fi and fantasy. Sometimes a few short stories--and even some poetry. I've been both published and self-published. Yet so far I haven't made enough dough to rub two nickles together. Still, like all writers, the dream lives on. I'll be 'discovered' as a fresh new voice and a huge contract will be offered.

Dreams. The stuff that we all live for.

Come, brother

"Come, brother.

Let us walk this evil path together, side by side,  our shields held high and are swords sharp and ready.

What lies before us is unknown; what lies behind us is nothing but fire and brimestone.  We are surrounded by enemies maliferous and fates unkind. Yet the two of us, brother, the two of us shoulder to shoulder, can weather through any storm--any hardship.  Together, brother; together we'll make our stand here and laugh in the faces of the gods whom so…

. . .And the rain bathed me

She said she loved me.

Standing in the rain in front of her parent's home.  A home with flowers bright and full littering the basement wall below the front porch.  An old, comfortable looking porch swing hanging from chains and steering gently in the soft breeze.  The lights of  the house off--off except one; hers.

A warm feeling spread throughout my stomach--she said she loved me; and the rain bathed me in glowing surge of pure joy.

The Howling Madhouse Called Hades

Posted on April 30, 2011 at 10:13pm 3 Comments

With a quiet calm filling his soul he stands over the bleeding body and folds the blade of the bloody switch-blade back into the handle.  Black eyes, as black and as infinite as space itself, looks down at the body.  One soul consigned to ride the river Styx tonight into that howling mad house called Hades.  A tortured soul who, in his pain, reigned terror and fear onto all those who tried to love him.  Wife, daughter, son; hapless victims of a tortured victim himself.  And only the dark eyed… Continue
