The rustic woman’s feet were bleeding profusely, with broken pieces of glass having pierced her sandals. She sucked in her breath as the dry wind blew over her sweating body. Aged 28, Amit Parmessur has been published in around 50 magazines including WORD SLAW, Poetry Bulawayo, catfishgringoriver, Amaranthine Muses, Unfolded, a handful of stones, Burnt Bridge, Calliope Nerve, Black-Listed Magazine, Damazine and LITSNACK since late 2010. He has been published many times in his homeland, Mauritius, as well. He also speaks French, Creole and Hindi and currently edits the new and well-received The Rainbow Rose.
