This is one of the highways that comprise the infamous crossroads in the Mississippi Delta. Where 49 meets Hwy. 61 is where blues legend Robert Johnson is supposed to have sold his soul to the devil in order to master the guitar and win women's hearts.

Apparently it worked, Robert. Johnson was poisoned by the jealous husband of a woman who's heart he won.
