On September 1, 2006, the
Writer's Guidelines for
Six Sentences were
posted, and a new flash fiction site was born:
It’s simple. Just write six sentences. Say anything you
like. Send your work (including its title) along with your name (or
pseudonym), your bio, and any links you’d like to include
to sixsentences@yahoo.com. All
submissions will receive a response within six days.
Please see Formatting for
further details.
Six
Sentences was the first editorial creative
writing site with a blogging format, enabling readers to leave
comments directly under the pieces they enjoyed.
On March 1, 2008, due to the increasing popularity of
Six Sentences, The 6S Social
Network was launched, enabling fans and
friends of 6S to post their own work, discuss their favorite
pieces, and share their lives. It is completely free to join &
participate, and completely free of advertising.
In the spring of 2009, Six Sentences made
its debut on Writer's Digest magazine's annual list
of the 101 Best Websites for Writers. The thriving
6S community has remained on the list ever since.
In a nutshell, if you're a writer who wants to be read by a large
international audience, if you need to be creative but
don't have all day, nothing compares to 6S.
