Choose FIVE people (more if you must), dead or alive, famous or not, real or fictional, who define how you or others see YOU.  Everyone is a mixed bag of characters and personalities.  You don't have to take this too seriously - have fun with it.

I'll have to think about this for a while to come up with some characters of my own but this ought to make for some St. Patricks Day fun!

Borrow from literature, cartoons, myths or Hollywood!  Go crazy...(drink Guinness for inspiration)...

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!

Edward,
Gore Vidal: brains and a badass in debate on the page.
Sigourney Weaver: brains and a badass in Alien and Aliens.
For some reason I never liked Lucille Ball that much--probably because she got a lot more ink than another, better, comedian, Eve Arden in Our Miss Brooks. Come to think of it, I'm adding Eve to the list.
Okay; I'm buying Eve because her subtle nature and nuances were a trademark for many female comedians from Ellen DeGeneris on down.
By the way, I like the mental connection between Gore and Sigourney. Never thought of that.

By the way; my all time fantasy would be to attend a debate between Wm. Buckley and Gore Vidal.
There would be enough snide laughs and thoughts to last a lifetime.
The best one was between Vidal and Mailer back around the same time as Vidal went at it with Buckley. Vidal was chewing Mailer up for being such a sexist, homophobic dipshit, and Norm swung on him, which pretty much proved Vidal's point.
Later Vidal said, "Poor Norman. Once again, words failed him."
All Buckley did was threaten Vidal after Vidal called him a "crypto-nazi." I'd've taken off the crypto myself...
I love the eloquence of ideological verbosity no matter which side as long as it's grounded in fact. Once you threaten violence, you lose.
And Buckley threatened who?? I would have bet Vidal could have kicked his skinny ass.
Streisand's version of Fanny Brice ~ the tugboat scene

Katie Scarlett O'Hara ~ the radish scene, as God is my witness

Rhett Varmint Butler ~ the bringin' Ashley home drunk scene

Butch, Sundance & Etta ~ all sepia toned blurred up headed into the big adventure - the train scene

The Fitzgeralds ~ Scott as the Beautiful and the Damned - or - Tender Is the Night, clinking his gin into the dark soul of the night . . . as well as ... Zelda jump=cavorting into that fountain

Holden Caulfield ~ still wondering where the ducks go in the winter

Mae West ~ "I'd rather be looked over than overlooked""Is it the men in my life or the life in my men?"

Top Cat ~ all the Officer Dibble scenes

*************************

Lovin' that Teresa's Mom as National Velvet seduced her way outta tickets ... the Jack Paar choice ... the Gita=parade ... the noise it made in Mexico when all those hardcovers fell off Mr Brown's shelves ... and I'd play Gracie Allen to Crisman's Gore as long as Ed got to be the MC . . . ~ Absolutely*Kate

( well played, Teresa )
( CJT still scares me and we all would handily known Handley )
If I did specific scenes I could have gone all day week year. I have a library 50/50 of books and film. Well done.
1.) Aeryn Sun - from the TV series 'FarScape' - tough fiery woman but with a compassion she keeps hidden until she meets the man of her dreams and learns to let go. (I am currently still searching for that man, c'est la vie!)

2.) Delenn Sheridan - from the TV series 'Babylon 5' - an advocate for what's right, doesn't like violence but is willing to fight to protect the innocent, insecure, frequently seen as ambivalent by others, and only lies to protect someone and is overwhelmed with the guilt of having done so.

3.) C. Precious Jones - from the book 'Push' by Sapphire

4.) Jo March - from the book 'Little Women' by Louisa May Alcott - strong-willed and dedicated to protecting her family and her independence. Doesn't wish to be dolled up and can't use a curling iron to save her life.

5.) Dory - from the movie 'Finding Nemo' - "See, I suffer from short-term memory loss. [...] No, it's true, I forget things almost instantly. It runs in my family. Well. At least, I think it does.[...] Where are they? [...] Can I help you?"

There are others but I chose to keep to five for your sanity. Thanks for making this forum, Teresa. It's been fun.
