As an avid reader/writer, I’ve become quite fond of certain words. Supercilious, for example – totally faked me out as it doesn’t have anything to do with being super silly, but in fact quite the opposite. And then there is Delicatessen, which I learned how to spell in 2nd grade by breaking it down by syllable – deli, cat, ess, en. I proudly displayed my knowledge of spelling Delicatessen with my finger on foggy windows, sticks in sand - any medium I could find. Oh and I cannot forget Curmudgeon, which is just a much more fun and colorful way of referring to someone who is being a grouch.

So tell me, what’s your favorite word?

I had severe language delay as a child, so I still struggle with word blindness and dyslexia but my fav word is 'Business' because I still have to say in my head 'Bus-in-ess' in order to spell it right!
who would've thought such an excellent writer would suffer from "word blindness"?
It gets me into trouble sometimes, I will write something read it back a few times and not notice that a word is wrong or missing (so it's not lazyness)...I read a book a week now and the more I read the less I suffer from it, same as the dyslexia the more I read the less I suffer from it.

I think it is Stardust.

I just like the idea that billions of years ago some long departed star blew itself apart and in doing so created the various bits and pieces of elements that went into making me ... and everything around me, (and it definately sounds better than nuclear waste).

love these responses!
I like "discombobulate."  Best word EVER.  :)

I think Circumbendibus has to be my all time favourite. I wrote a children's story based on it a good few years ago now.

Taupe. French for mole.
If you mean the animal mole, Cath, I like  mowdiwarp, a Yorkshire dialect word for one.
Chatoyancy.  I would love to use it in a story.
Passionate.
Bootylicious.
