I have several favorite lines from movies, and forgive me for any inaccuracies but here are a few:

Out of Africa~Now I know why God made the world round, so we can't see too far down the road.

~When the gods want to punish us, they answer our prayers.

Titanic:  ~(Kate Winslet's character says as she looks at original Picasso paintings), "It's like looking at a dream - there's truth but no logic."

~(She says to Leonardo DiCaprio's character regarding their relationship), "It makes no sense; that's why I trust it."

What movie lines have moved YOU?

apparently, i never look at the discussions.  shocker!  but i have plenty of faves.

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner." - Dirty Dancing

"There are workers and there are hustlers.  The hustlers never work and the workers never hustle, and you, my friend, are a worker." - from Cocktail  (needless to say, i'm not a hustler)

"Look, let me explain something to you. I'm not Mr. Lebowski. You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That or His Dudeness... Duder... or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing."  ~  The Big Lebowski

@Ian: is that not the absolutely best line in a comedy, maybe ever?

Hey Gita, that film gets better every time. And so many good lines, but that one always does it.
Gone with the wind..."Frankly my dear I don't give a damn."

"Oh Fiddle dee dee Jeanette ~  There's always tomorrow!"

~ Katie Scarlett

love that line, jeanette!
Thanks, that was the best I could do at 3AM.

Brando in On the Waterfront in the back of the taxi with Rod Steiger: "I coulda been a contender instead of a bum, which is what I am."

DeNiro in Taxi Driver, in that great scene where he's looking in the mirror: "You talkin' to me?"

Brando in the Wild Ones when the girl asks him what he's rebelling against: "Whattya got?"

Oh, Bobby DeCrisman, you're a hoot.
(( Just love it when gents are still hoots ))

God, there's a billion of these, but for now I'll stick with dialogue from The Princess Bride:

"Life is pain, your highness.  Anyone who says differently is selling something."

(In response to a question about why Wesley is wearing a mask): "Oh, they're quite comfortable, really.  I think in the future everyone will be wearing them."

"Don't rush a miracle man, sonny.  You'll get rotten miracles."

"As you wish."
