Seems like all the rage here - very very popular. Haven't seen it; I'll weigh in if/when I do...
Hey Rose Girl,
So after my younger sisters' RAVE about the book series. I bought Twilight. I hate to say this, but I was terribly disappointed. I think Meyers could have done SO much more with the whole Jane Austen meets Gothic Vamp. However, I will say that after I lowered my expectations I'm enjoying the novel now. Haven't seen the movie, but have heard that the actor's looks don't match the description given in the book. Also, I've heard the music is all wrong. I've looked up the author's bio and she has a kickin' music playlist.
Yeah some of the characters are slightly changed, compared to the books... but all in all they are not too bad and i mean i can sympathise as it would be really hard to find what everyone thinks is the perfect person to play the part. also because if you read the books before hand you have your own personal view of the characters so not every one will be happy. But i like the fact that meyer was present through the whole filming, so i dont think they have strayed too far from the book.

Thank for the Reply's!!
Ok i can officailly reply to my own discussion!!
TWILIGHT WAS AMAZING!!!
I think that violets can vouch for this as well, as she was caught with a few tears left in her eyes at the end of the movie.
At the start the actors seemed a bit awkward but as the movie got further through it got better ... It was funny romantic grusome and sad all in one.
I would just like to sya again that... TWILIGHT IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE AMAZING!!!!
It was much better than i thought it would be.. at the start i was also like "what have they done?! they've ruined it" but now i take all that back, as someone who has read the books numerous times i am glad to say that it truly was a good movie and not a dissapointment to the book.
And would i go see it again?? Yes, i definately would!!
YAY, now i do want to go back and see it!!! awwww

Anyway that is my spiel so thanks for listening!!

Here's an excerpt from the blog I wrote after I watched the movie :"I knew ahead of time what to expect from the reviews, people seemed to either love it or hate it, which is typical when a popular book is converted into movie format. I'm grateful that the wait wasn't too bad to get in and I was able to sit in the same section as all my friends. Yeah, there was some screaming teenagers and people talking throughout the movie, but I just ignored it. As far as the actual movie goes, I liked it. I think they wasted too much time with scenery shots, time that could have been used to put more actual parts of the book into the movie. I think Edward could have been cuter...the actor did have really good bone structure that made him believable as a vampire, but he wasn't what I pictured when I read the book. They did do a good job casting Isabella, though. The special effects kinda remind me of a low-budget, BBC style movie. Edward's glittering was really silly looking, causing the ladies sitting next to me in the theater to burst out into hysterics every time he walked into the sun on screen. But, all this aside, I still enjoyed the movie. I still think the books are way better, but that's because I'm one of those "book-readers" your mother warned you about."
Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.
And how old is your son may i ask? its just not extremely common for boys to like it...
Not that i have anything against boys who like it! I dont blame them.
