Permalink Reply by Ali Znaidi on July 29, 2012 at 7:32pm I think doing an MFA in Creative Writing is a good project for those who want to teach creative writing and secure a job when there are vacancies in some universities. But if someone wants to write and feels that he/she has to sharpen his/her creative talents the only gateway is reading and writing. Besides, we all know that the best writers in the world read more than they write.

I don't have an MFA but a woman in my critique group did a low residency program at Bennington College and loved it. She work very hard, though, while holding a full time job and with a husband and kids.
