What can YOU say in six sentences?

So if you could choose only one memory to remember for the rest of your life, what would it be?
And are there are particular reasons why?

I just wrote a blog about what my memory would be and wanted to find out what other people would choose and LillyGirl said that I should start a discussion to try and get some more answers.

So pull up a chair (unless you already have one) and tell me about it!

i dont think i would actually want to choose...i think i would rather have random selection, and let the gods decide. :)

BUT because i know the above answer will annoy you endlessly, i will think (ponder) on this more and come back to you...

i dislike it when my own questions are turned against me, V!!

Thank goodness you are coming back.
Plus everyone else is being silly and most liking chickening out from answering it.

When I was little I used go outside at night and ice skate under the stars. My mother would turn the porch light on for me so I could see. I remember the joy I felt in my own solitude looking up at the stars, twirling in circles and making wishes.... Thanks for asking I just had a chance to relive those moments in my mind...

Oh, so many wonderful memories. How do I choose? Three children, hundreds of wonderful memories for each. I know...

When I was three years old I would make early morning visits to my grandfather. Still wearing my little nightgown I would knock on his door, unaware that my mother had already phoned to say I was on my way. He always pretended to be surprised to see me. Then, this giant of a man would scoop me into his arms and say, "who wants breakfast?" He made the best pancakes. That feeling of security and love was the foundation of everything my life has become, and I would never want to forget that.

What a wonderful memory, Laurita. Grandfathers are stength, security, and gentleness all rolled into one!

okay, I know what my problem is...why this is so hard for me.
I think I am reading into it too much.
here is some of the things that just ran through my mind, for your enjoyment:

what about a memory from when I used to live in England? No, because then I wouldn't know I actually lived in Australia. But I don't want to forget England, either. If I choose a lgm (little girl memory) won't I then still think I was that age? I would be wandering around, convinced I was 5, when I'm really in my twenties...what if I forget really important things, like how much I love writing? Maybe a writing memory then...but my family! My friends! Oh no! I need to get both my family and friends together, then choose that memory, so I can remember everyone important. I could get them together for a "writing day". That would work. but, on second thoughts, cate would probably call choosing a non-existent memori cheating. dang...

it goes on, but I thought maybe you have had enough now :$

Haha I understand carole :) At first when you asked me this question those were all the kind of things that went through my mind too, but then i thought no, just choose a feeling you would want for the first of your life and pick a memory with that feeling.
So yeah..
But don't worry, I suppose if you really had to choose, we (family and friends) would be able to fill you in on some of it :)

If I could only pick one memory, well, I found out, after much deliberation, that I can't.

Hmm... Well I ran through the sprinklers on the golf course the other day for like, half an hour. It was insane. I want to REMEMBER it... but it's also capturing the feeling of it :) If that makes sense?
