I noticed that the Chat feature is gone.  Even if you don't use it to chat, you might want it to know who and how many people are on line at any time.  I asked Rob about it and he said, " I'll take a poll on Friday & see what everyone thinks. The chat feature was pretty glitchy and underutilized."  So I guess we will be asked to vote on Friday whether to bring back the Chat Feature or not.  What do you think about this?

I liked being able to see who was on, but I never had any success chatting. So it was good for one thing but not the other,

Bring it back.
The only time I used it was the first day the site opened. Then not until last year when Rob had a bunch of us on line at the same time to discuss what we did and didn't want. It was neat that night, but I never used it again.
Never used it.  Don't care.

Ditto what Crisman said....

I like the way the site works without chat.  There's so much to read here, and I don't have time to waste, so chatting is sort of an unnecessary distraction.  And I don't think I ever saw anyone having a meaningful chat.  It didn't seem to fit here on 6S.
I feel indifference about it.

i like the chat feature, and would like to chat with you folks very much

however, i'm online briefly then gone again... afraid i'd miss you every time! but would still like to at least say
"hello" now and then.. or "hell"   ;)

I don't need it to chat, nor to see who's online because I can see that from the activity on the left side board if they are posting. If they're not actively posting, it's an invasion of privacy to show them "online".
Hmm ... commented on this but it hasn't appeared.   Briefly, chat was useful for seeing who was around, although to a small extent the avatars do this, albeit less reliably.
