The 6S Social Network

What can YOU say in six sentences?

Hi Guys,

After receiving so many emails from you (and telepathically communicating with Kate, who seems to have an endless supply of super-powers), I thought it'd be a good idea to set up an "official" comments and suggestions page - a way to let everyone cut loose and voice their honest opinions about the main site, and of course our home here on the 6S Social Network.

What's working for you? What isn't? What features here on the Network do you love? Which can you live without? What would make this an even more enjoyable place to spend a little time?

Say whatever you like, whenever you like, and as often as you like - and say it HERE! On this page, in this thread! Feel free to bounce ideas off me, and each other. I'll be checking back often... and taking careful notes.

You guys rock. Thanks.

Pieces submitted to the main site should be new, nothing previously published here (or anywhere else). The excerpted sixes - by famous personalities - are the only exception. (Sometimes, people republish their six(es) on their own blog or website, which is fine, but I try to make sure they aren't submitting work they've already published on their blog/website...)

Let me get this right, all this time I thought posts to the blog site were picked up by the main site if chosen; I had it backwards? My bad. ;-(

By the by, I think the sites are amazing and I am inspired everyday. There are so many active, brilliant writers here. Thank you for sharing your vision and providing us a home. ;-)

Rob, perfetto mundo here and on the main site. Looking forward to 6S:V2 and all the exciting news to come.

I make few NY resolutions, but one I did commit to was to write one 6 a month and ship it to ya. I've been absent on the main site, not for lack of interest but because of overwhelming life. But I'm baaaaaack now. Peace, Linda

No, No, no 5 or 7 just 6"s.

I agree, Jeanette. I wish I remember how I stumbled upon this site. However I accomplished that, it was the theory behind six sentences that intrigued me. Maybe Rob could redirect, or repost whatever it was that first generated interest in 'six sentences' rather than 5 or 7?

I think it would be nice to have a place on the site where you could submit work that you would like critiqued.

I have a dilemma. Being an "oldie but newbie", really am not sure if I fit. I read these entries by these seasoned, serious writers, and feel intimidated.
My stuff seems to be a collection of memories & reminices of a long time on this planet, some 27,918 days according to something I read on a blog, anyhow not sure I fit.
Let me know if I outta hang in & have fun with it, or should I play MacArthur, and just fade away. Dan says stay-you guys holler back, OK?

Dick - I was referred to this site by a blogger friend of mine....without a "true" writing background (basically I like to tell stories to my family and friends) I submitted a couple of stories to Rob and was encouraged to write a six/sixes and guess what? Rob published it!! Suddenly I am a writer!! Yikes!

So, with all that written, I say to you, Dick....stay.

create and play

Of course you fit! We all fit! That is the beauty of this place and space.

Yes, there are some accomplished writers here - but how the hell do you think they got that way?

They wrote sixes.

Six is the secret. No one gets turned away, everyone realizes this is a place to hone your work, your style, learn to tell a story or set a mood in six (short or longish) sentences.

Have fun. Relax. Pull up a laptop, and write... and welcome! Peace, Linda

Yeah, especially if there's an agent on the other end of that thar press release.

But AK's a smartun, Dick - better listen to her or she'll turn ya into a poem! Peace, Lind
